Salary

This has a lot to do with labor shortages over the past few years.

A new report came out that discussed the states in the U.S. where salaries have risen over the past decade (from 2010 to 2020), which showed off the top five states on the list. Unfortunately, it showed the bottom states on the list as well, and Wyoming had the worst showing of anyone.

"[We're] making sure that we're in a position where we are providing the kind of resources our wildland firefighters need, the kind of benefits they need, and the kind of commitment they need through adequate pay and salary, to make sure that we recognize the real danger that they face and the sacrifice that they make to keep us safe."

If you make this much, you should be OK.

If you are doing a job, you should be very thankful. There's a new study that shows many people aren't doing what they love and would gladly take a pay cut to make the change.
