A scam in which people pretending to be stranded travelers give people fake jewelry as collateral against a loan to get back home has been reported in Wyoming.
It's a scam, and the post says that law enforcement will never call people up and demand their personal information under the threat of an arrest warrant.
If the intended victim doesn't hang up, the caller asks for driver's license info as well as social security numbers insurance information, and other sensitive personal details.
Anyone who receives such a message is being told to delete it immediately, and that absolutely under no circumstances should they open the text or click on the link.
