At first, details of the suspect's death were not released, but now Natrona County Coroner James Whipps has announced that Clutter died from a bullet wound to the chest that was not self-inflicted.

A Colorado man is behind bars following a high-speed chase and shootout with a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper.

According to the post, the driver refused to get out of the vehicle, and instead started shooting at police.

The Lovell Police Department reported on Sunday that a suspect has been arrested, and the victim is in "critical but stable condition," following an early morning shooting on Sunday, December 20.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, the kidnapping stemmed from a dispute over drugs.

A total of 54 law enforcement officers from local and statewide agencies assisted in the immediate response and investigation.

Next of kin has been notified and an autopsy will be performed.

No officers were hurt in the shootout.
