Governor Mark Gordon has announced that he is pulling Wyoming from its participation in federal supplemental unemployment benefit programs.

It's been a year-plus since the pandemic hit the U.S. and it has been more or less a disastrous time for many. However, of all the cities throughout the country, Cheyenne has been holding its ground and weathering the storm almost as well as anyone.

An Associated Press review finds that many states will not even publicly acknowledge the extent of the problem.

According to the Casper Economic Health Index (CaEHI), Wyoming has an index value of 97.7, as of September 2020.

These brands have suffered during the pandemic

As the entire country is in the process of recovering from the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, Wyoming has fared well overall when it comes to unemployment rate recovery. But then when you break it down to cities, Cheyenne has made one of the best recoveries from unemployment in the entire U.S.

Wyoming's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell a half a percentage point between June and July, going from 7.6 percent to 7.1 percent.

As the national unemployment rate is still in recovery from the ongoing pandemic, Wyoming's unemployment claims are recovering fast and among tops in the nation at doing so.
