A local senator is stirring the pot with a new bill that could reshape how we think about driver’s licenses and public safety.

Laramie County, unlike many other Wyoming counties, allows voters to cast ballots at the voting center of their choice.

"You hear people talking about our democracy and what it means," Cheney said. "But I can tell you with absolute confidence that our democracy is fragile."

Today is the last day of the 2021 General Session of the Legislature, although a special session is expected to be called later this year.

The bill is cosponsored by almost two-thirds of the entire Legislature, making it likely to eventually pass.

The bills were defeated at a meeting of the Joint Committee on Corporations, Elections and Political Subdivisions in Jackson Monday.
