Drive across Wyoming, and you will see mile after mile of empty space, with the occasional humble home.

That, apparently, is what space aliens look for.

Wyoming has a history of UFO sightings and remains a "hot spot" for unexplained aerial phenomena.

There are a couple of stories out there called "THE MEDICINE BOW INCIDENT."

Below is one you can find on the Weird Darkness Podcast .

THE MEDICINE BOW INCIDENT: Was Carl Higdon Really Abducted By Aliens in the Wyoming Wilderness?

He aimed at an elk — and ended up aboard a cube-shaped spaceship with paralyzed animals and a toothy alien named Ausso One.

Listen to the episode below.

There is another story by the same name that was a television episode back in the 1970s.

This story in the TV show is nothing like the one in the podcast above.

Project UFO (Television Show) -- The Medicine Bow Incident.

THE PLOT: After 2 airline pilots report a UFO sighting, Maj. Gatlin and S/Sgt. Fritz travel to Medicine Bow, WY to investigate claims of a sighting, but find a young man who corroborates the pilots' sighting.

Additionally, recent reports from the Mountain West region have included sightings in Wyoming, and the state has been the location of specific events like the "Medicine Bow Incident" episode of "Project U.F.O.". (Episode aired in 1975 according to IMDB).

Funny how the landscape in this episode looks NOTHING like Medicine Bow, Wyoming.

Yet, the episode is supposed to take place in the Cowboy State.

The special effects could be better.

But that was 1970s TV for you. Low budget.
