Karen is a pejorative term used in the United States and other English-speaking countries for a woman perceived as entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is appropriate or necessary. A common stereotype is that of a white woman who uses her privilege to demand her own way at the expense of others.Wikipedia.

We have all had to deal with Karens. So why would anyone want to own a Karen doll? Frankly, I'd worry about it being possessed.

Sad to say that the doll you see in the picture above is not real. It's an internet meme, a parody of dolls made by a company called American Girl. You can see what the entire meme looks like here.

The manufacturer of American Girl says it is “disgusted” by an online parody of one of its actual toys. In the parody, Karen is holding a gun and refuses to wear a face mask while shopping.

American Girl released the following statement:

“I saw a post of an American Girl doll, Karen, who refuses to wear a mask and carried a gun as disgusting,” a Twitter user wrote the Wisconsin-based company. “Is this what we want to teach our children?”

The company had threatened to sue but then pulled back that threat.

Personally, I like this Karen doll even better. Once again, same haircut and color. She comes complete with Starbucks cup and Walmart Coupon - though maybe Target would have been better. She even has a Mama Bear t-shirt, which refers to a comment former Governor Sarah Palin made about being a Mama Bear when she was running for Vice President. Push a button on her back and she growls "Take me to your manager."

There are also a few other items that she comes with that I'd rather not talk about..

Sorry to say - there is not an actual Karen doll for sale. Not that I could find anyway. These are all just online parodies. What a shame, I think they would actually work as a way to teach our kids to NOT be a Karen.

Think of it as a teaching tool for your little girls: the evil Karen doll will play a role much like the evil witch doll. Then, hopefully, they won't want to grow up to be like that.
