A tasty dinner, served by people in uniform, all to benefit a charity cause? Sign me up..

This week, Casper Police Department is asking the community to participate in Tip-A-Cop at Texas Roadhouse, to benefit Special Olympics Wyoming. All you need to do is go out for dinner on Tuesday Dec 10th (last night, like I did) or Thursday Dec 12th, between 4pm and 8pm, and leave a little something extra in the envelope a lovely officer will present you with.

It's a fun atmosphere, and a great way to casually engage with officers while also doing something good for Special Olympics Athletes, who also serve in the restaurant alongside the officers.

A friend and I went specifically to support the event, and had a great time (as "retired" restaurant servers ourselves) giving the well-meaning officers a hard time about their duties. I applaud their bad jokes and determination to give us more bread than we could possibly handle, and certainly more than we actually wanted. They know how to keep a crowd happy.

Again, Tuesday night has already passed, but if you're in Casper and in the mood for a casual, fun night out, head over to Texas Roadhouse on Thursday December 12th, 4pm-8pm. Call ahead if you'd like because it does get busy, and have a few bucks ready to thank the officers with - but really, to support Special Olympics athletes in Wyoming.
