Tourist Regrets Rolling Down Window To Take Selfie With Bear

We begin our story in Scottland before circling back to Wyoming.

A Scottish tourist is thankful to be alive after a close encounter with a wild bear sent her to the emergency room.

“What happened was the bear came up to the window at my friend’s side, and no problem. It let us take a picture and went away,” Gallacher said in a video. “But I didn’t get a proper picture, so we went back and it was at my side.”

Nature is not like how it is portrayed in Disney movies or TV cartoons.

Bears are wild animals that will KILL YOU if they feel the urge, and there is almost nothing you can do about it.

In October 2021, a woman was sentenced to jail for photographing and approaching a grizzly bear at Yellowstone National Park.

Maybe the plan was to put her in a jail cell for a while, for her own safety, then explain to her how she almost got eaten by a bear.

"The park is not a zoo where animals can be viewed within the safety of a fenced enclosure. They roam freely in their natural habitat and when threatened will react accordingly," Acting Wyoming U.S. Attorney Bob Murray said, adding that "pure luck is why Dehring is a criminal defendant and not a mauled tourist."
