Tuesday Morning Wyoming Smoke Alert
Before I go to bed I always ask my phone "Hey Siri, tomorrow's weather."
It was surprising to hear the forecast start with an air quality alert.
Now you know why you woke up Tuesday morning, October 1st. with your eyes watering and with some problems in your sinuses.
If you have breathing issues you might want to try and stay inside with filtered air for the morning and into the early afternoon.
The good news is that the wind should shift to come at us from a southwesterly direction, later on Tuesday.
Until then, just hang in there is the best advice
After thinking about it for a moment, not so surprising.
Some Wyoming fires that the state has been battling all summer were looking contained and maybe nearing their end.
But no such luck, as they road back with a vengeance.
Here is what the alert looked like for Tuesday morning, October 1st.
Winds are light Monday night and Tuesday morning. They are from the north, heading south. That's bringing smoke from the Bighorns straight down Interstate 25.
Up above Sheridan, in the Bighorn Mountains, is the Elk Fire.

Area Acres Burned: 24,755
Percent Contained: 0%.
Western Wyoming has been battling stubborn big timber fires all summer.
Just last week there was hope that firefighters had finally obtained the upper hand.
Smoke is now pouring down from those mountains through the town of Dubois.
PACK TRAIL INCIDENT
Type: WF - Wildfire
Area Acres Burned: 17,916
Percent Contained: 0%
FISH CREEK INCIDENT
Type: WF - Wildfire
Area Acres Burned: 25,081
Percent Contained: 87%
