
Vanishing Wyoming: The Church At Otto
On the west side of the Bighorn Mountains, between Greybull and Cody, down on old highway 30, is the little community of Ott, Wyoming.
It's one of those places where you will see old homes and a church and wonder if anyone still lives out here.
There's even a little graveyard.
People still live in the area, though the community is not exactly thriving these days.
There are large ranches all around it.
Otto is an unincorporated community in Big Horn County in the U.S. state of Wyoming.
It was named for Otto Franc, a local cattle baron, sheriff and judge in the Big Horn Basin.

All of them involve leaving Otto, Wyoming.
Don't bother driving out there.

It won't take long.
They do have a little park with a baseball field.
It's well maintained. The grass is as green as it can be for such a desert area.
Don't bother looking for downtown Otto. They don't have one.
So if you are ever in the area, be sure to slow down.
It's a nice community with some homes that were beautiful, once upon a time.
