States Wyoming Has Concealed Carry Resoprocity With
You don't have to have a permit to carry a gun in Wyoming.
That includes concealed carry.
You just need to have a clean record showing that you are a responsible citizen.
Wyoming is a "constitutional carry" state. Any legal U.S. resident who is 21 years of age or older and can legally possess a firearm may carry a concealed handgun in the state without a permit.
But it helps to have a permit if you want to travel out of state.
Wyoming has reciprocity with the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin.
That's a lot of places you can go without worrying about it.
Even with a permit, there are locations where concealed firearms are prohibited, such as schools, courthouses, detention facilities, and the bar areas of restaurants.
Some states that have reciprocity with Wyoming have additional restrictions or specific conditions that Wyoming permit holders must follow.
These are not blanket recognitions and often depend on the specifics of each state's firearms laws, such as age limits or which types of permits they honor.
So it is still a good idea to check with the states you are traveling through, or to, just to make sure you are complying with their local laws.
To apply for a concealed firearm permit in Wyoming, you must download and complete the application from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) website and then submit it, along with your fee and other required documents, to your local County Sheriff's Office, according to a fact sheet from the Wyoming DCI.
You will need to provide proof of training or qualification, a photo ID, and a money order or cashier's check for the DCI application fee.
