Wyoming Sweater Weather – Wednesday Through Weekend
If you look at the leaves on some Wyoming trees, you can see a hint of color.
I walked over to some of these trees and tried giving them a hard time about it. I'm not done with summer yet. I was just getting into it.
But those trees don't care.
Fall is about to give us a test run.
Wednesday's temperatures for the region could drop as low as the 60s or even 50s for some higher elevations.
A chance of rain comes with that, which is much needed.
Those cool temps will stay with us for a few days, even into the weekend, bobbing between upper 60s and 70s, depending on where you are in the Cowboy state.
These cooler temperatures and wetter weather are just what our state needs.
Fire season arrived late, but it is here, and we need the cool and the wet.
This year, Wyoming had a split in its weather.
The eastern half of the state stayed cool and wet for most of the summer.
Some areas remain green through the entire season.
Not so for the western part of the state.
Those mountains that we are famous for captured warmer and drier air and kept it there. Southwestern Wyoming has been in a drought all year.
So grab a sweater or light coat from your closet.
The good news is that this cool, wet weather will cover those parts of Wyoming that have been begging for rain. Better late than never, is the old saying.
This is when you turn off your AC and open your windows.
Sleeping at night with the windows open is going to be nice.
