An Accurate Wyoming Culture Map

Well, that sure is a marked-up map of Wyoming.

This map makes its way around the internet now and then as a meme. Looking closely at it, it's obvious that it was marked up by someone who knows the cowboy state.

Let's have a closer look.

Bottom right, just above Cheyenne, we have "Cattle and Rednecks." YEAH, nailed that one. That part of the state is long open fields of cows and rednecks tending to them.

North of that, we have "farming and rednecks," which is true, just go visit Wheatland or Torrington, as a couple of examples.

Top right of the state, we have "mining and rednecks." They need to mention more cattle. There are lots of cows up here.

Back down to the bottom right, we see, circled in red, "HIPPIES." That would be Laramie, Wyoming, with the university and, yeah, that means hippies. Especially the college professors.

Above that, we have "oil fields and rednecks." Let's include roughnecks with those oil fields.

Above and top center of the state is "ranching and rednecks." Very true. But let's not forget the oil and gas fields and the coal mines.

Over the Wind River Range, we see "mountain rednecks." But let's not forget the indians. That's where the reservation is.

NOW IT GETS ENTERTAINING!

Bottom right are the "CRAZIES." That is so damn true.

Above that are the "Mormons." Then the "rich people," and finally the "tourists."

YUP, that's about all you need to know about the people of Wyoming.
