Wyoming Dancer Inspires A Youth Movement
As a citizen of Wyoming do you wear brown and gold on the second Wednesday of every month?
There was a bill passed and signed by Wyoming's Governor Gorden explaining why we are asked to do this.
Jonathan Royals formerly Datkidbabas has empowered the brown and gold movement by embracing hiphop and developing a meaning that Hip hop stands for Having Inner Peace and Helping other people.
Working with the community and visiting local Triumph High School to teach break dance fundamentals and the creative approach hip-hop embraces, even outside the aspects of dance.
Creativity can be accomplished no matter your interest.
The inspiration and the meaning behind what Jonathan evokes comes from the influences of the Bboy Factory in Colorado.
That has led to embracing breaking/house/ and pop lock styles of dancing across a multi-level of age groups and many states.
Recently there was an article about him published through Redbull about the Bboy Factory in Colorado.
Jonathan has been an advocate to pull that same meaning to Wyoming residents.
Jonathan Royals is a part of the Dance Icon competition and currently holding a place in the semi-finals.
The Wyoming Brown And Gold Movement, President Barber shop along with Jonathan Royals, Angel Maldonado, Dominic Syracuse as well as Wyoming Wave Studios and many others want to show the youth that anything can be achieved if you set your mind to it and that you can be creative in many ways without the influence of drugs or what main steam media may attribute.
These dance moves are a lot different than anything you have seen before.
It's almost like watching the Scare Crow from The Wizard Of OZ, if he knew how to dance.
Come to think of it, Scare Crow did dance, when the movie was remade with Michael Jackson playing the part.
