State Senator Eric Barlow Announces Bid For Wyoming Governor
We might be a year away from picking the next Republican candidate for Wyoming Governor. But this is about the time that candidates begin announcing.
The latest, State Sen. Eric Barlow, R-Gillette, officially announced on Tuesday.
His announcement was made at the Wright Centennial Museum in Campbell County.
Barlow first entered state politics in 2022 as a representative of Senate District 23, which encompasses Campbell and Converse counties.
He held that seat for a decade and was Speaker Of THe House for 2 years. 2021-2022.
His opening speech centered around the usual topics for a candidate in Wyoming. Lowering property taxes, promoting energy independence, and defending local control and private property rights.
The interview below is by Wyoming PBS of Eric Barlow, back when he was in the House of Representatives.
Wyoming next votes for a Governor on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026.
Governor Gordon will have finished his second term and be done.
There are a few who are considering running to become Wyoming's next Governor.
One candidate is already in the race, ahead of everyone else, but he's not really pushing it right now.
Brent Bien has already announced and has a website up and running.
Bien has been touring the state and attending any event that might help get his name out to the general public.
While on the campaign trail for Wyoming Governor in 2022, I heard what the people of this State wanted and needed from the next Wyoming Governor.
The people want lower property taxes, schools that teach the four traditional areas of study, not woke left-wing ideologies.
The people want less Government over reach, State Sovereignty, and less Federal restrictions.
They want safe and secure elections (Brent Bien).
Joseph Kibler is a lesser-known personality in Wyoming who has announced he is running for the GOP nomination for Governor of Wyoming. You can find out more about him at this link.
Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray has been thinking about the governor's seat for a long time.
Gray and current Governor Mark Gordon often butt heads on issues, as Gray is far more conservative than Gordon on many issues.
Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray said he is “exploring” the option to run for governor of Wyoming or for Wyoming’s sole seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, saying he has been “strongly encouraged” to run, though no official announcements have been made. (Wyoming Tribune Eagle).
Exploring is not running. It simply means that Gray is evaluating whether he would be a viable candidate.
There are two others in the state of Wyoming that are also exploring the possibility of a run for Wyoming governor, but they don't want to say anything -- yet -- and they asked me to keep quiet about it until they have made a decision.
