Wyoming Had A 107 MPH Wind Gust Last Sunday
How was that wind for you this last Sunday? 03/16/25.
It's Wyoming and we are in the month of March. This is how it is.
I bet you looked up a few times and said, out loud, "WOW that was quite a gust."
The biggest and badest gust recorded was in Fremont County Wyoming.
One guest topped 100 MPH.
The National Weather Service in Riverton (NWSR) shared that a gust of 107 mph was recorded in the Red Canyon area of South Pass, which, as of 7:20 PM, remains closed to all travel.
We are not done.
There is at least one more day of this.
The NWSR has forecasted strong winds will continue overnight through Monday morning,
with “additional areas of concern” being across the Lander Foothills, which will see gusts pushing 60 mph over the next couple of hours.
Tuesday brings snow, and wind.
The winds will be a little lower than Sunday and Monday, but will still be strong enough to close some highways to high-profile vehicles.
Everybody in Wyoming will get some snow on Tuesday.
How much just depends on which part of the state you are in.
Expect the heaviest to fall on the Western side.
You'll be happy to hear that the temperatures and wind will calm significantly for the rest of the week.
But that does not mean perfect.
This is still March.
Expect light snow showers now and again with some brisk winds, though not as windy as last summer.
You know how Wyoming is.
Don't like the weather, wait 5 minuets.
