I saw it on the internet, so it has to be true.

RIGHT?

Someone on TikTok and other social media outlets it taking the lazy way out to produce content.

They are using AI for both the script and the video content on history.

Their take on Wyoming history sucks beyond suckage.

I mean - really bad.

Take this video below about the former town of GEBO, Wyoming.

There is very little about the history of this town that this video gets correct.

The images are nothing like what the little town of Gebo looked like.

The title of this video is.

This is story of Gebo Wyoming-the town they deleted!

The headline is poorly written and is not true.

Nothing was deleted.

Here is the truth of Gebo Wyoming.

Gebo is a ghost town located in Hot Springs County in the U.S. state of Wyoming. It is located approximately 11 miles north of Thermopolis. The town was established as a coal town in 1907 alongside the nearby camps of Crosby and Kirby. Wikipedia

That's not the only Wyoming story that this AI fake history site is posting.

The video above is supposed to be about Empire, Wyoming. THE TOWN THEY TRIED TO ERASE! Also not true.

Here is what really happened to Empire, Wyoming.

Empire, Wyoming, was a short-lived African American community established in 1908 in Goshen County, near the Nebraska border.

It was founded by African American families from Nebraska who sought a racially self-sufficient and politically autonomous community.

Despite initial success, the community declined due to factors like an agricultural depression, drought, and racism, including the lynching of a resident.

By the 1920s, the population dwindled, and today, only a cemetery and historical markers remain as reminders of Empire.

Let's please remember that the internet is full of lies for many reasons, and we should always doubt what we see online.

Reading The Past - Chugwater Wyoming Newspaper

These pages of the old Chugwter Wyoming newspaper show us coverage of the region from back in the 1940s.

There was little local news, other than the war.

But what was published at the time was important to the people of the area.

It was, in most case, the only news they had from outside their little ranch or town.
