Dear Wyoming Ranchers,

Your cows fart and belch too much.

FEAR NOT - someone is trying to invent a vaccine for that.

Don't worry, the animal won't swell up with gas and blow up.

Rather, it would prevent them from making the gas in the first place.

This is all theoretical at the moment.

A recent CNN article, “How a ‘cow fart’ vaccine could help tackle climate change,” discusses a vaccine under development to be given to cows to reduce the amount of methane their digestive processes produce.

As you might expect the idea is to help fight "man-made climate change."

The problem is not CO2, but Methane.

Cows belch more of it than fart it.

There have been many wild ideas for capturing this methane.

Putting bags over their butts that attach to their backs, collecting the methane.

Even putting a face cover over the mouth that does the same.

However, the face cover makes it almost impossible for the cow to eat and drink.

I'm against the injection idea for a lot of reasons.

Not just because of the fake "science" behind it, but because a belching and farting cow is a happy cow.

When I eat steak, I want to know that it came from an animal that lived its best life before we took that life from it and put it on my plate.

Walking across a Wyoming grassland, eating, pooping, farting and belching would make anyone happy.

Please don't take that from our cows.

Happy cows make for delicious steaks and hamburgers.
