There was a bit of a groan let out when the state of Wyoming released its new license plate.

The old one was colorful and interesting.

The new one is black and white and BORING!

The state of Wyoming has been replacing its state border signs with a new one that they hope is exciting.

The old ones were - well - old.

Weathering and bullet holes had taken their toll.

The one signs had the state name and one big photo of a Wyoming mountainscape behind the lettering.

The new one has 5 colorful Wyoming landscape photos behind big white letters.

The letters are easier to read on the new sign.

But some have complained that the pictures are too busy.

The new sign is far more colorful than the old one, making it more of an attention getter.

Below is the old Wyoming welcome sign.
