Wyoming Summer Of 2025 More Mild Than Predicted
After a few cool and cold blasts in the middle of July, Wyoming and the surrounding region are finally getting on with summer.
Forecast predictions at the beginning of the year were for an extra hot one.
If you stopped trusting forecasts a long time ago, you are in good company.
What the computer models and many meteorologists had predicted for 2025 has not played out.
Our local/regional weatherman, Don Day of Day Weather, knows our area, and he accurately predicted what this summer would bring. But even he was sure to say that we never know until we get there.
You'll be happy to know that as we get back into the warmer weather of July, it won't be WICKED HOT! Just warm.
That's not to say that an extra spicy day won't pop up here and there.
Most of our region will enjoy the 80s and low 90s for the next couple of weeks. If you like it in the 70s, head for the mountains.
Watch for those afternoon thunderstorms. They will remain a constant thing with hit and miss showers in the later afternoons. That's not a bad thing as long as those storms bring more rain than lightning. Dry thunderstorms bring fire.
If we are to believe the longer-range forecasts for August of 2025, that would be more of the same.
But hold that thought. Those longer-range forecasts have not fared so well up to this point, or ever, for that matter.
It has been a wetter year than 2024.
Wyoming has seen a couple of fires, but so far, it has been quiet out there. KNOCK ON WOOD.
