These days when we think of the most expensive places to live in Wyoming we naturally think of Jackson or Teton County, where the town of Jackson sits.

That would be correct.

But other places are getting more expensive as out-of-staters move to The Cowboy State.

Let's have a look at the most expensive cities in the state according to the home research site Home Snacks.

The 10 Most Expensive Places To Live In Wyoming For 2024

  1. Jackson
  2. Cody
  3. Rock Springs
  4. Powell
  5. Gillette
  6. Laramie
  7. Lander
  8. Cheyenne
  9. Sheridan
  10. Green River

There are a few towns on this list that might seem out of place.

It might be a little bit of a shock that Gillette ranks much higher than Cheyenne.

I thought Sheridan would have fallen in right behind Cody and Lander would have been higher up the chart, too.

That does not mean that all of the places on this list are outrageously expensive.

The top 4 are only for those with deep pockets.

Powel and Gillette are considered reasonably priced when folks look at the cost of living across America.

Torrington is the cheapest place to live in Wyoming if we are still thinking in terms of a town with grocery stores and other such conveniences.

Small towns like Hana and Chugwater are even more affordable, but you'll have to leave town and drive a long way to shop for basic things.
