FRANKLY, Wyoming needs more Bigfoot sightings.

Many people have the impression that Wyoming is one of the top states for Bigfoot sightings.

But we actually rank near the bottom.

That's because, according to the legend, the big hairy guy likes heavily wooded areas to hide in.

But much of Wyoming is open land.

Still, the BIG GUY has been sighted here, allegedly.

Before the white man came, local tribes told stories of a large, hairy man-like creature up in the mountains.

The Shashonie called him SHAMPE. They claimed the creature lived in the Wind River mountains and was both intelligent and dangerous.

Back in 1868, near Devils Tower, a group of white trappers reported seeing a massive man-like creature, covered in hair and walking upright.

Below are the 5 most recent Bigfoot sightings in Wyoming.

OCTOBER 2020 - Bridger-Teton Teton, Wyoming. Two hikers heard guttural noises and saw a large figure in the trees. They saw large footprints in the snow.

2019 THE WIND RIVER WATCHER - In the Wind River Range near Pinedale, Wyoming, 3 people say they saw a creature moving up the rocks near their camp. They describe it as Bigfoot. It kept turning to look back at them.
