Albany County Attorney Peggy Trent has recently resigned from her role, effective Tuesday, May 4.

In the release from the Albany County Democratic Party (ACDP), Chair Carrie Murthy stated the following, “We are grateful for Ms. Trent’s service to our community, and wish her well in her future endeavors.

With this announcement, the party has also announced a search for candidates.  The Albany County Attorney is a public office held by an elected official with a 4-year term.

Interested applicants must submit their applications to albanycountydems.chair@gmail.com by 10 pm on Sunday, May 9 for consideration.
