The moose are raging this summer, especially over the last few weeks. With their mating season coming up and about to swing into high gear, there's a really good possibility that we could see more of this happening as well.

This time, the attack occurred on a 62-year-old man who was out running with his dogs on a trail in Winter Park.

According to a press release from CPW, the man only suffered minor injuries while his dogs were unharmed in the incident. The attack happened on Wednesday morning when the man was running with his dogs unleashed when, all of a sudden, the dogs came running back towards him. I'm sure it's because they were freaked out by this giant creature they stumbled across while frolicking along. The man then looked up, took a couple of steps to get a better look at the moose, and that's when that thing came charging.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a total outdoorsy person and always have been. But after the past few months of hearing and seeing all of these crazy wild animal encounters and attacks, I'm leary. Call me a chicken, call me a big baby, call me what you want, but I AM a little more skittish now than I've ever been.

Wildlife officials came on to the scene for a search but did not find the moose.

Just a reminder to always keep your dogs leashed up and if you ever see a moose, give it plenty of space and NEVER get closer.

If you don't want to take my word for it, Colorado Parks and Wildlife has put together a list of what to do and, more importantly, what NOT to do when encountering a moose or any other wild animal. The common theme here is: give the animal space.
