The Holidays are supposed to be a time of joy, cheer, and goodwill.

But, this time of year can also be full of pain and sadness for those struggling with grief.

And, not just for those of you that have suffered a recent loss.

Gatherings with family and friends can be an amazing time full of happiness or can be a reminder of a missing loved one.

Todd Von Gunten, a grief care specialist from Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, came into our studio to share his thoughts with us about how to survive the Holiday Season while dealing with grief.

After this interview, we asked Todd to share a few of his favorite resources. Below is a list of a few of his favorites, including websites, books, and videos.

This is a downloadable worksheet that not only gives great reminders but has wonderful ideas about how to honor a loved one and helpful questions for the entire family to work through together.

ElephantJournal.com has many articles you may find helpful, this one titled "Surviving the Holidays While Grieving" may be particularly helpful.

The children's book "The Memory Tree" by Britta Teckentrup is a wonderful resource for both parents and children.

You are not alone and there are people that are ready to help you.
