Casper police allegedly found $1,800 in counterfeit money on a woman along with methamphetamine and other drugs Tuesday morning.

Police arrested Donae L. Chavez, 37, on recommended charges of possession of a controlled substance.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, a police officer saw a black Chevrolet car parked in the 400 block of North Kenwood. The officer was going to contact the driver and passenger, but had to take another call.

When the officer returned roughly two hours later at 11:29 a.m., the same vehicle was still parked there with the passengers remaining inside.

The officer approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, identified as Robert Johnson, 40, and Chavez, who was the passenger.

According to the affidavit, Johnson agreed to step out of the vehicle and talk to the officer. When the officer searched Johnson's person, the officer allegedly found 75 jeweler's bags and two syringe plunger caps.

A second officer arrived and Chavez got out of the vehicle. Officers then searched Chavez's purse and found a used syringe, a loaded syringe and a broken methamphetamine pipe, the affidavit alleges.

According to the affidavit, a female officer saw something poking through Chavez's shirt. The female officer had Chavez shake her undergarment and several items fell to the ground including 18 counterfeit $100 bills, pills and a jeweler's bag with suspected methamphetamine.

Johnson and Chavez were subsequently arrested on recommended possession of methamphetamine charges.

They are expected to appear in Natrona County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.
