SEE: Videos Of Massive Cheyenne Fire From Every Angle
Most of Cheyenne, Wyoming, could see the fire from anywhere around the city.
Tuesday afternoon, a multi-story apartment complex that was under construction lit up and burned down in a very short period of time. The fire was north of Dell Range Boulevard.
Thanks to the hard work of Cheyenne's finest firefighters, the blaze was confined to the large apartment building west of Converse Avenue, with damage done to a single-story building to the west of it.
This is what the fire looked like when it first started.
Since everyone has a cell phone and instant internet access, videos have begun popping up from all angles.
This video has many angles but - sorry - annoying music.
If you were shooting videos like this, where would you stand?
How about far from the flames and upwind.
Even the people standing as far away as you see here say that they could feel the intense heat.
Once a building is this far gone, firefighters focus on preventing the flames from spreading rather than putting the building out.
Nobody was injured, thankfully.
There is no word yet on what started the fire.
The speed at which it spread was astounding.
Folks in the Walmart and Sam's Club parking lots were able to see the fire over the tops of those stores.
Please pardon the language of the guy below. Though he does express what most of us were thinking.
He gives credit to our firefighters for the fine job that he sees them doing.
Tuesday was a windy day. Those flames could have spread across our dry landscape and into entire neighborhoods, quickly. Once again, thanks to Cheyenne's firefighters, the blaze was kept confined.
The video below shows how high that wall of flame got compared to the buildings right by it. That was one big fire.
