The Cheyenne/Laramie County SWAT team was deployed on Tuesday to serve what Cheyenne Police say was a "high risk" warrant on West 8th Street.

That's according to a post on the CPD Facebook page. According to the post, the warrant was served at around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the 200 block of West 8th street.

Police say the warrant serve was pre-planned and that there was a heavy law enforcement presence in conjunction with the arrest. Police say they took extra precautions to keep everyone on the area safe.

As part of that effort, Cole Elementary School was placed in a secure perimeter and extra police school resource officers were deployed at the school, but the post says the school was never under any kind of direct threat.

Police say the arrest was made without incident and that area was soon cleared of the extra police presence.
