WATCH: Drone Flight Around Amaizing New Cheyenne Mural
The mural of horses painted on a Cheyenne, Wyoming, water tank is finished, and it is MAGNIFICENT!
Watch the video below, which was taken by a drone flying around the tank.
Over the past few decades, America has been transformed by colorful murals covering what were once large, empty, single-color walls.
Most of the murals tell something of the town's history.
Cheyenne, Wyoming, has a project that is painting its water towers and tanks, and the artistry is AMAZING!
Watch the video below.
Special thanks to Donnie Crerar for the drone video. Donnie enjoys finding interesting, local points of view and shoots his videos just for the public to enjoy.
Honestly, aren't we all tired of looking at big industrial tanks and bland buildings that are popping up in our area?
Let's put some creativity into our landscape.
Artists like this have talent and love the work, so let's hire them.
That leads us to the question of how this is done.
How does someone create a painting this big?
Cheyenne Water Tower Murals is a community-driven initiative to transform the city's water tower with a beautiful, inspiring mural.
This project is 100% donation-funded, and they ask for the community's support to make it happen!
After selecting a photo, they arrive at night and project the image on the tank.
The artists then outline the photo.
From there, it's just a matter of adding color and shading. But, then again, the color and the shading are the hard part.
You can follow their fascinating progress on their Facebook page, Cheyenne Water Tower Murals.
To help with fundraising, there are events and even chances to meet the artist.
This project is anticipated to be completed this year with fundraising efforts by a community committee -- led by an individual citizen, by the way.
A public reveal and celebration surrounding this project will be held in 2026, as part of the America 250 celebrations. As the project commences, other events and opportunities will take place to engage the public and get community members involved.
