Big Lots in Cheyenne, Wyoming is showing big signs advertising that they will soon be closing their doors in the Capital city.

Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after warning it had “substantial doubt” about its survival.

In an attempt to stabilize, the company the retail giant will be closing a number of stores. 315 locations to be exact.

Despite being a discount store the company's financial losses, a shrinking customer base, and escalating operational costs.

Big Lots is attempting to bring in around $707.5 million in financing to maintain its operations during this restructuring process.

In a statement, CEO Bruce Thorn said,

“The actions we are taking today will enable us to move forward with new owners who believe in our business and provide financial stability. We aim to optimize our operational footprint, enhance performance, and reinforce our position as a leader in extreme value.”

A quick look at a long list of stores across the nation showed no mention of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Yet there the store is, working towards its final day.

Just a few years ago Cheyenn's Big Lots was on the other side of that plaza. 3501 E Lincolnway, Cheyenne, WY 82001.

They decided to move to their current location and the far end with a brand new and upgraded store.

However, that new location has only lasted a few years, and now the storefront is covered with going-out-of-business signs.

This might be a good, short-term deal for customers, as many items are up to 50% off.

Wyoming has one other Big Lots location, in Casper.
