Colorado Parks and Wildlife has temporarily closed a park in Jefferson County, following reports of aggressive mountain lion behavior.

According to Fox31 Denver, there is no estimated time for when Deer Creek Canyon Park will reopen to guests.

CPW is currently investigating the Jeffco Open Space, which is located west of C-470.

CPW explains that mountain lions are generally elusive, quiet and calm. However, should a lion attack, wildlife officials suggest fighting back and attempting to make yourself appear larger, so that they realize you are not prey, but potentially a danger.
