Crappy Toilet Paper Math Just Doesn’t Add Up
What the HECK do those numbers on a toilet paper package mean?
6 = 36 or 8 = 50 and so on.
It's supposed to be telling us something - but - WHAT THE HECK?
Is it the number of squares a roll has?
No, it's not.
This is known as TOILET PAPER MATH!
So how does this help you know what you want to buy?
The guy in the video below tries to figure it out.
I finally solved the toilet paper math question.
I will break it down with science and math to show you which one is the best one to buy and what all those numbers mean.
You can't just rely on square footage since thickness is involved.
This video will help explain what the toilet paper companies mean when they say 6=36 rolls and stuff like that.
What level of softness toilet paper you buy is all up to you but this will help determine if it is better to buy the bigger rolls of the same stuff or more of the smaller rolls. (Chaz Dillon).
There is actually an online calculator so consumers can input the price of a package of toilet paper, the number of rolls per package, and the number of sheets per roll to get a rating of the best value.
Here is a second video on toilet paper math. He doesn't get it either.
So what is really going on?
Are the numbers by squares? NO!
Are the numbers by length? NO!
The numbers you are seeing are supposed to be toilet paper by weight.
But don't believe that either.
So - ignore those numbers.
Nobody knows and the toilet paper industry is not telling.
