Opinion by Glenn Woods, Wyoming's Morning Radio Talk Show.

Dear Wyoming Democrats, your gaslighting is snowing.

Honestly, Democrats, this is the worst letter you've ever written.

THE BACKSTORY.

Wyoming representative to the U.S. House, Harriet Hageman, had some trouble recently at a town hall meeting in Laramie.

Around 500 people showed up, an unusually large number for any Wyoming town hall, and a number of those people were loud and obnoxious.

Not that the congresswoman could not handle them.

It happened again on a smaller scale in Wheatland.

Many of those disruptors in attendance were not even from Wyoming and have been seen at other town halls around the nation.

Because of treats received by the Hageman staff, the congresswoman decided to conduct all town halls by video, until things calm down.

DEMOCRATS RESPOND.

Thinking they have a political opportunity, the Wyoming Demorcrat Party posted the following on their Facebook page.

I will put my responses to what they said below.

Representative Hageman’s decision to cancel in-person town halls is disappointing. These events are supposed to be a cornerstone of representative democracy—a chance for constituents to speak directly with their elected officials, share concerns, ask tough questions, and hold leaders accountable. Choosing to end them undercuts transparency and sends the message that she’ll only engage with the public on her terms.

This would not have happened if the Democrat disrupters in the room had been able to behave themselves.

Not one democrat has apologized to the congresswoman or anyone else for their obnoxious behavior in Laramie or Wheatland.

Democrats often complain about feeling "unsafe" and "threatened." But they are the ones who threaten and make others feel unsafe.

By the way, democrats, America is a representative republic. Not a representative democracy. They always get that wrong.

Instead of listening to the people of Wyoming, she’s now blaming them, dismissing their concerns as part of an unfounded national conspiracy.

There is nothing "unfounded about this."

At this point, Wyoming Democrats are trying to deny what has happened and change the subject, even shift blame.

Those are typical tactics of - GASLIGHTING!

The fact is,

Whenever they say "THE FACT IS," you know they are about to lie.

when leaders ignore or dismiss their constituents, avoid tough questions, or stoke division with inflammatory rhetoric, they create an environment of frustration and distrust. That’s not solved by retreating behind virtual filters—it’s solved by rebuilding trust, showing up, and answering questions honestly.

The congresswoman stayed on that stage in Laramie for over an hour, taking questions and debating those in the room who were screaming, cussing, and even throwing out the middle finger.

Talk about disrespectful.

There was a clear opportunity for a civil debate, but the democrats in the room brought chaos.

Now they are trying to blame the congresswoman for the mess that they created.

Let us be clear:

When the democrats say "Let's BE CLEAR," they are about to GASLIGHT again.

The Wyoming Democratic Party does not condone violence, threats, or harassment of any kind. Elected officials and their staff should be safe, and we support investigations into any such incidents.

Tell that to ELON MUSK!

But protest is not violence.

There is a big difference between civil protests and the mess that those democrats created. The two cannot be compared.

It is a fundamental right protected by the Constitution. Using peaceful dissent as an excuse to avoid public accountability does a disservice to the people of Wyoming, their voices should matter.

What we saw in Laramie was not peaceful descent.

It was screaming, cussing, shouting down, and throwing out the middle finger. It was rude and obnoxious.

If Rep. Hageman finds the public’s response uncomfortable, maybe the issue isn’t with the people—it’s with the record she’s defending.

GASLIGHTING AGAIN!

The congressman is proud of her record and more than able to defend it in a reasonable debate, which those democrats were NOT going to allow.

Leadership means showing up, even when it’s hard.”

RESPECTFUL ADULT BEHAVIOUR IS EASY - You democrats should try it.
