Famous Wyoming Space Aliens Dress For Christmas
Wyoming's famous stranded aliens certainly have that holiday spirit.
This is not the first time they have dressed up for a seasonal event.
This time it's Christmas.
I say stranded aliens because they seem to be stuck here in Wyoming, much like the folks in the Lost In Space TV series, or Gilligian's Island. Maybe even that most famous alien ET. (We never did know ET's real name).
What star system they are from we do not know.
But they are making the best of it.
You can see them on Highway 789 on your way into Lander from Riverton.
They just sit there, high up on that pole, watching traffic go by.
How do you think they survive the most windy weeks in Wyoming?
Perhaps their force fields are still operational.
Look, there they are dressed up for Halloween.
Perhaps those two stranded aliens have begun to understand human holidays.
Or maybe they are just trying to blend in while they wait for their "people" to come and rescue them.
We found out about this with a Facebook post showing these guys all dressed up for the holidays.
Though, if they wanted candy they could have just walked around as aliens.
This time of year, who would know?
That's what they look like all dressed up.
Look closely and you'll see a few other Halloween items, like a mummy and a bat.
I'm not sure what they wore for Thanksgiving.
But they were ready for Christmas.
Here is what they look like for the rest of the year.
NOTHING TO SEE HERE.
Drive along. Don't stare at them, it's RUDE!
Just a UFO stopping to use the restrooms and grab a snack as they cross the galaxy.
Obviously, Wyoming is a rest stop, I mean, we have 2 spaceports.
One in Green River and another at Devil's Tower.
But what about the alien rest stop outside of Lander, Wyoming?
This picture was posted by Donna Drogos on her social media.
Wyoming attracts our most foreign tourists from throughout the universe. Highway 789 near Lander. 11/08/23, wrote Donna.
I won't dare ask the property owner what's going on.
He has no choice but to deny any knowledge of what we are obviously not supposed to see over his property.
Then again, maybe they stopped to ask directions.
Wyoming's two registered spaceports are nowhere near here.
Should we just point to Green River or east to Devil's Tower and make beeping noises at them?
I don't speak alien... do you?
Many stories have been written about Wyoming's Green River Intergalactic Space Port.
Including one by Cowboy State Daily, titled:
Why The Heck … Does Green River, Wyoming, Have An Intergalactic Spaceport?
In past articles, I've pointed out that Wyoming has two spaceports. Don't forget Devils Tower. The "documentary" Close Encounters Of The Third Kind is well known.
You can look up the Green River Intergalactic Space Port on any map.
But did you know you can look it up on a special map made just for pilots?
Let's back up to see how this spaceport came to be.
Much like the invention of the Jackalope in Douglas (which is now world-famous) the Green River Space Port was said to be an interplanetary humanitarian effort to save potential lifeforms on Jupiter.
The planet was being bombarded by the remnants of a comment at the time.
What began as tongue-in-cheek by the local city council is now officially recognized on aeronautical charts.
Yeah, that's right, the FAA has a sense of humor.
Then again, anyone from Jupiter is welcome, for real.
Just, nobody from the giant planet has taken them up on it.
This odd-looking map below is called a Sectional Chart. It's used by pilots.
Let's zoom in to the Green River area to see what the FAA has named that little dirt and gravel strip locals call the Green River Intergalactic Space Port.
You notice an airport identifier of 48U. Not really a clever name. It just helps pilots to find it when using electronic maps or planning a flight.
Cheyenne's airport identifier is KCYS. Casper's is KCPR. The Rock Springs airport is identified as KRKS.
HOLD ON!
What's that written above 48U?
Well, I'll be...
Some years ago the FAA officially recognized that little green river airport as the Green River Intergalactic Airport
Digging a little deeper into the official FAA listings, they do include "SPACE PORT" in their write-up. They just did not care to write it all out on the map.
So, there you go, It's official.
The only officially recognized Intergalactic Spaceport on Earth.
