Vehicle Went Over Edge of Lookout Point Atop Casper Mt., Life Flight Called
Tragedy struck on Saturday as dispatch reported that a vehicle had driven through the barrier at Lookout Point on Casper Mountain.
Lookout Point is, of course, an area of the mountain that, as the name suggests, looks out over the city. It has a steep decline past the metal barriers.
At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, dispatch reported that one vehicle had driven through the barrier. It was reported at the time that there was one occupant of the vehicle, a male.
First responders reported that they had located the vehicle and the occupant.
The condition of the driver is currently unknown, though Wyoming Life Flight was called, suggesting that the driver was in critical condition.
Multiple first responders were on scene, including the Natrona County Sheriff's Office, the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Casper Fire-EMS, an ambulance from Banner Wyoming Medical Center and more.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol is the lead investigator on this case. K2 Radio News has reached out to the Wyoming Highway Patrol regarding the accident and the status of the driver.
We will update this breaking story as more information becomes available.
