How To Get Your Wyoming Teens Involved In Shooting Sports

Wyoming is a great state if you're a firearm owner or fan of shooting sports. If you have a teen that is interested in shooting sports, Wyoming is a great state for them too.

The Wyoming State High School Clay Target League is something you can look into and get a team together to participate.

The league was created in 2001 in Minnesota and has really taken off around the country. There are plenty of Wyoming schools a that are already part of the league already, but there's always room for more.

It's really simple to get your team together and involved.

Any school is eligible whether it's public, private or parochial school is invited to participate. All you really need to do is have the permission of the school board, principal and the athletic director.

All students that want to compete, are required to complete firearm safety certification programs.  

Students from 6th grade to 12th grade can be involved with the team.

If you'd like to get your team involved for the fall league, you have until September 11th to get your team signed up.

September 17th is practice week

The first of six weeks of competition is September 24th and will continue through the week of October 22nd.

Registration fees are just $35 per shooting athlete, ammo and target costs are determined by the team. The total amount for a team to get involved is about $300 total.

The league is co-ed and can be enjoyed by anyone that would like to be involved and is eligible to participate.
