Rivals Collide When Laramie Hosts Cheyenne Central on Homecoming [VIDEO]

The Laramie Plainsmen return to Deti Stadium on Friday night for the first time in three weeks. Looking to snap a two-game skid, Laramie hosts rival Cheyenne Central for its Homecoming game. The Plainsmen are 3-3 on the season, and the Indians come to town with a 4-2 record. The game starts at 6 p.m.

LARAMIE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAME PREVIEW NO. 6 IN 2026

Laramie is coming off a 35-27 loss at No. 2 Sheridan last week. The Plainsmen jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but two kick return touchdowns got the Broncs back in it. LHS trailed 35-14 but rallied with two fourth-quarter TDs. That cut it to 35-27. They needed a defensive stop in the last five minutes but couldn’t get it.

The Plainsmen will try to take the lessons learned from that loss into the game against the Indians. Head coach Jake Chick discussed playing at home, correcting tackling and special teams issues from last week, and previewed what to expect from Cheyenne Central.

The Indians enter off a 52-13 win over Rock Springs. They have the No. 2 rushing attack in 4A football at 264 yards per game. They average 31 points per game. Senior Tyrone Richards is their main weapon. He’s already run for 1,041 yards. Richards averages 8.5 per carry and has nine TDs.

Series History

Central won last year’s game in Cheyenne, 28-6. They lead the all-time series with the Plainsmen, 72-63. There have been six ties. The series goes back to 1909 and is the second oldest for LHS. Friday night is the 142nd meeting.
