BREAKING: Homicide Victim Found at Mirror Lake in Albany County Identified
The Albany County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of a homicide whose body was found wrapped in a tarp at Mirror Lake on the Fourth of July as 56-year-old James Bitner of Black Hawk, Colorado.

For those unfamiliar, Mirror Lake is a popular picnic and fishing stop about 14 miles west of Centennial on Snowy Range Road (Wyoming 130), roughly a one-hour drive west of Laramie and a four-hour drive north of Black Hawk.
"An investigation is being collaboratively conducted by the Albany County Sheriff's Office, the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Colorado 1st Judicial District Attorney Investigator’s Office," the ACSO in a press release Thursday morning said.
The ACSO says it's working diligently to ensure that all pertinent information is shared with the public in a timely manner, however, as the case is ongoing, updates will be limited to safeguard the integrity of the investigation.
"The Albany County Sheriff's Office remains dedicated to resolving this case and providing closure to the affected family," it said. "Thank you for your patience and understanding in the limited information we are currently allowed to share with the public."
