You are going to think I'm kidding, but this is a true story.

While eating at a McDonalds a friend of mine said the words Sushi and Donut.

He pointed over my shoulder to the restaurant that was next door.

Was it a sushi shop that now sells donuts or just the opposite, and they did not have the money to fix the sign?

Well, there is only one way to find out.

I took the above picture of their sign as we approached.

The old building looked like it had gone out of business a long time ago.

I was a little surprised when I was able to open the door.

The smell of fish and donuts filled my nose.

A young man behind the counter greeted us.

Good morning.

Are you here for sushi or donuts?

In front of me was a counter with donuts displayed under glass, and more behind glass on shelved behind him.

To my right was the sushi side of the restaurant.

There were people there happily downing big chunks of the Japanese delicacy.

Can I have a donut,

but fill the hole with some sushi? I asked.

The young man behind the counter laughed.

Seriously, he said.

Which would you like?

It was still too early for sushi for me, so I asked for a couple of donuts.

They were really good.

The fish smell in the restaurant does not get into the donuts, so you don't have to worry about fishy-tasting donuts. Honestly. It's all good.

What an odd combination for a restaurant.

You can find the restaurant here, on Google Maps.
