The first winner of the WyoPreps Athlete of the Year honor for Boys’ Indoor Track, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming and Wyld Gear, goes to Kaiden Lee from Natrona County High School in Casper. In his three jumping events, Lee was nearly perfect during the indoor track season and won all three at the Wyoming High School Indoor Track State Championships in March.

Lee went undefeated in the high jump, his signature event during the indoor season. He set the mark for the all-time state best in the high jump when Lee cleared 6-10 at the Campbell County Indoor Invitational on Jan. 20, 2024. The senior added an impressive victory in the high jump at the prestigious Simplot Games in Idaho on Feb. 17, 2024. Lee also took second place at the Simplot Games in the triple jump. At the 2024 Wyoming High School Indoor Track State Championship in Gillette, Lee went 3-for-3. He defended his title in the high jump at 6-2. He did the same in the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 46-10.50. Lee’s third victory was in the long jump at 22-2.75. Lee earned all-state for the second straight year and was one of two student-athletes who won three events at the state indoor track meet.
