Wyoming’s Drunkest and Driest Counties

Here is a fun interactive map that searches the nation for the drunkiest and driest counties in America.

For the purposes of this article, we will focus on Wyoming.

This website provides an interactive map of excessive drinking by county, based on CDC definitions.

The map leverages data from the latest annual datasets of the CDC’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R) program.

Among the least drunk is Johnson County, where 14.99% of the people are excessive drinkers.

Most of the rest of the people of Johnson County have better things to do with their time.

You might also notice that other green patch on the map, on the other side of the Bighorn Mountains.

That would be Hot Springs Country.

There are slightly fewer drunks in Hot Springs than there are in Johnson County.

That's odd, because Wyoming Whisky is made in Hot Springs, so you would think they would be living it up.

That is where the University Of Wyoming is.

You know, college kids, which means lots of drinking.

Though I am sure they are not the only problem.

What might shock some people is what Wyoming county comes in at #1.

23.1% of Teton County residents are excessive drinkers.

If you think Wyoming has it bad, look at Montana and Colorado.

They have ISSUES.
