In the third WyoPreps Coaches and Media Soccer Polls of the 2024 season, five new teams joined the rankings that were released on Wednesday. There was a tie for fifth in both Class 3A girls’ and boys’ divisions. Class 4A girls saw a team re-enter the poll. The four top-ranked teams kept their spot.

The most change was in Class 3A boys. Worland remained at the top with ten of the 11 first-place votes. The Warriors just won the Pinnacle Cup Tournament last weekend. Runner-up Torrington moved up two spots to second and got a first-place vote after the Blazers took second at the tourney. Cody fell to third despite not playing last week. Green River made their season debut and jumped in at No. 4. Powell slid down into a tie for fifth with another new team, Buffalo.

The top four remained the same in 3A girls. Cody was a unanimous choice again with all 13 first-place votes. Worland was one vote shy of being a unanimous pick for second after the Warriors won the girls’ division of the Pinnacle Cup. Powell and Douglas held in third and fourth. Buffalo and Green River joined the rankings and were tied for fifth.

Class 4A girls was the other poll with a change. Laramie got back into the top five with a 2-0 start to conference play. They are third in the latest rankings. Jackson retained the top spot with 11 of the 13 first-place votes. Kelly Walsh was second again, followed by Laramie. Both of those teams received one first-place vote. Thunder Basin and Cheyenne East stayed in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Finally, in 4A boys, the only change was two teams traded positions in the poll. Cheyenne Central kept the No. 1 spot with five first-place votes. Jackson also picked up five first-place votes, and the Broncs moved up two spots into second. The Indians got enough votes for second which kept them at the top. Thunder Basin held third and got two first-place votes. Kelly Walsh fell to fourth. Sheridan was steady at No. 5.
