Cheyenne Police say a 24-year-old Cheyenne man was killed by injuries he suffered in a crash involving a motorcycle on Dell Range Avenue on December 22.

According to CPD spokeswoman Alex Farkas, the crash happened at about 11:45 a.m. near King Soopers at 3702 Dell Range Boulevard.

The new release does not name the victim. The Laramie County Coroner's office will name the victim and notify next of kin.

Farkas wrote the following in regard to the crash: "Preliminary details show the crash occurred when the driver of a van made a left turn into the King Soopers parking lot, crossing into the path of an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcyclist attempted to brake but lost control of the bike, and a collision occurred. Investigators are examining speed as a possible contributing factor."

Farkas says the Cheyenne Police Department's Major Crash Unit took over the investigation and is still working to find out what factors played a role in the fatal collision.
