A 40-year-old Cheyenne woman has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and distribution of fentanyl, the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Wyoming announced Wednesday.

According to USAO spokeswoman Lori Hogan, beginning in September of 2024, detectives with the Cheyenne Police Department's Community Action Team began an investigation into the distribution of fentanyl in the Cheyenne area.

Hogan says through surveillance and interviews, they were able to track Ashley Nicole Haberman's and her then boyfriend Brady Joseph Ehler's movements to Colorado, where they purchased fentanyl and brought it back to Laramie County to distribute.
"The investigation revealed that Haberman and other coconspirators were redistributing the fentanyl for several months and that one redistributor sold the fentanyl to another person who overdosed," Hogan said in a press release.
"Detectives also issued search warrants, resulting in the seizure of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia from Ehler’s vehicle and their shared hotel room," she added.

Haberman will be subject to five years of supervised release once she's released from prison.
