I-25 Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Drug Charges for Cheyenne Duo
A Cheyenne duo is facing felony drug charges after a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper reportedly found a large amount of fentanyl pills during a traffic stop.
According to arrest records, 29-year-old Dalton Izik Bayne and his passenger, 25-year-old Shaydon Lyn Binghman, were pulled over on northbound Interstate 25 south of Cheyenne Tuesday evening, March 19, after a trooper clocked Bayne driving 79 mph in a 75-mph zone.
The trooper says "Bayne's heartbeat was in his stomach area and his hands were trembling" and "Bingham's hands were also trembling and she appeared to be very nervous as she had a scared expression on her face."
When asked about his basic travel plans, Bayne reportedly told the trooper that he and Bingham had gone to his brother's house in Loveland, Colorado because it was his niece's birthday.
When the trooper asked Bayne how old his niece was, Bayne reportedly got quiet, looked straight ahead, and replied, "I think 12?"
The trooper says Bayne's heartbeat was still in his stomach area after he told him multiple times that he would be receiving warnings for speeding and having a cracked windshield.
"I found it strange that he did not know his niece's age especially after having supposedly just come from the birthday party," the trooper wrote in his probable cause remarks.
"I also found it odd and unusual that he did not calm down after being told that he would be receiving warnings," the trooper added.

The trooper then deployed his K-9 partner, Bailey, who alerted on Bayne's SUV.
A probable cause search ensued, and approximately 120 grams (0.26 pounds) of blue M30 fentanyl pills and three small plastic baggies of suspected methamphetamine weighing approximately three grams were found in the center console.
Several drug paraphernalia items were also located in a purse on the passenger floorboard.
Bayne and Bingham were arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center for felony possession of fentanyl, felony intent to deliver, and misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine.
They made their initial appearances in Laramie County Circuit Court on Wednesday morning, during which their bonds were set at $5,000 cash and their preliminary hearings were scheduled for March 29 at 9 a.m.
