Man Dies After Pickup Rolls Down Embankment in Northeast Wyoming
A man is dead after rolling his pickup in northeast Wyoming's Crook County, the Highway Patrol says.
It happened around 12:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at milepost 188.5 on U.S. 14 south of Hulett.
According to a fatality crash summary, 41-year-old Idaho resident David Thibault was headed north when he failed to negotiate a sharp right-hand turn, lost control of his pickup, and rolled it several times down an embankment.
Thibault was wearing his seat belt but died from his injuries.
The summary lists speed and driver fatigue/asleep as possible contributing factors.
This is the 105th fatality on Wyoming’s roadways in 2023, compared to 93 in 2022, 86 in 2021, 96 in 2020, and 120 in 2019 to date.
