HEAR: Wyo House Rep JR Riggins Is Running Again, District 56

Another candidate for the Wyoming House was good enough to join Wyoming talk radio host Glenn Woods to talk about why he is running for reelection. Mr. J.R. Riggins has been serving in House District 56 in Wyoming, and he wants another two years.

Some of the key points touched on during the interview included:

Property tax reform for all.
Policies protecting children.
Challenging federal oversight bent on destroying our core industries.
Fierce defense of your constitutional rights from abuse by a bureaucratic state.

"I’m still committed to 'sensible' property tax reform, but I’m not enthusiastic about zero property tax for some and a 2% to 4% increase in sales tax for all," said Riggins.

"As a co-sponsor of HB0120-Energy Product Reclassification and Sovereignty Act, we’re taking advantage of today’s energy-friendly administration, but Washington liberals won’t stop trying to close the door on energy production on federal land. Constant vigilance is required."

Mr. Riggins voted for multiple First and Second Amendment protections, including Prohibition Red Flag Seizure, First Amendment Protection Act, Concealed Weapon Age Requirements, and Human Heartbeat Act.

J.R. Riggins was born in Kadoka, South Dakota, in 1960. He graduated from Kadoka High School in 1978. He has lived in Wyoming since he was 15 years old. He is married to Leslie Ann Engel. They have two children and five grandchildren.

He is employed with Tallgrass Energy.

Riggins was first elected to office as a Republican back in 2024 in the Wyoming House of Representatives. His first race was easy, as he ran unopposed in both the primary and general election. This time, he has competition.
