The Lander Police Department said Wednesday afternoon there is no danger to the Lander Middle School, students or staff while it investigates threats made by a student, according to a news release.

The school sent an email to the students' parents about it receiving a Safe2Tell tip about the student making the threatening remarks.

"We are investigating that tip fully and will take appropriate disciplinary measures with those involved," the email said.

"In our commitment to providing a safe environment for our students, please know that LMS takes school safety very seriously and investigates fully all reports, tips and Safe2Tell messages," the email added.

The school also forwarded the remarks to an unidentified law enforcement agency, according to the email.

In May, police investigated two threats by a student who said he would "shoot up the school."
