Laramie County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Retires After 17 Years
The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday announced the retirement of Lt. Mark Slovik.
Slovik began his career with the department in 2004. He was promoted to patrol sergeant in 2011 and patrol lieutenant in 2019.
Slovik's work earned him numerous awards, including the Medal of Valor in 2006 and 2007.
"Perhaps what Mark was most proud of were his contributions to the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Team," the agency posted on Facebook.
Slovik was K-9 Pary's handler from 2005 to 2011 before becoming the team's supervisor. And in 2019, moved into the higher administrative role of team coordinator.
"Lieutenant Slovik will be missed by the citizens of Laramie County and by all of us here at the Laramie County Sheriff's Office," the agency said. "We wish Mark all the best in his future endeavors."
